Shocking...But Not That Shocking
Stab in the back: Biden administration discussed forcing Netanyahu out mere weeks after October 7
According to former senior people speaking to Israeli journalists, the idea was for President Joe Biden to give a speech forcing Israel to make a choice: ditch Netanyahu and get the hostages back and Hamas out - or fight in a "forever" war and lose all the hostages.

Members of the Biden administration seriously considered trying to force Prime Minister Netanyahu out of office barely three months after October 7, according to an investigative report set to be broadcast this coming Sunday.
According to Raviv Drucker, one of the journalists preparing the report for the Hamekor investigative program, members of President Biden's administration openly discussed the idea of forcing out Netanyahu as a condition for bringing about an end to the war, the return of the hostages, and the removal of Hamas.
Basing themselves on polls showing State Camp opposition party leader Benny Gantz in the high 30s in the polls (the number has since gone down to less than 20) and Netanyahu's Likud barely getting 15 (they now regularly get in the mid-20s), the idea was to force Israel to oust Netanyahu in exchange for an end to the war.
Ilan Goldenberg, a Middle East peace negotiator for both the Obama and Biden administrations who later served as Kamala Harris' Jewish liaison, said that Biden - who was still very popular in Israel - would give a speech telling Israelis to choose between Netanyahu and dead hostages and endless war on the one hand - and the return of the hostages and the end of Hamas on the other.
The full details of the report and the plans to oust Netanyahu, which may have been hinted at by a statement by then-Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer in favor of Netanyahu's ouster, will be aired this coming Sunday on Hamekor in Israel.
