Government Extends Emergency State Until March 12

The Israeli government approved Thursday the extension of the state of emergency until March 12. The decision was made during a political-security cabinet meeting convened to discuss the progress of the operation against Iran and future steps.
A senior Israeli official said the main goal of the actions in Iran is to undermine the regime and bring about its fall, working "in our ways" to encourage the Iranian people to take to the streets. The extension allows the government to maintain special powers and coordination needed during the ongoing military campaign.
The move comes as Israeli forces continue strikes inside Iran and the country faces repeated rocket attacks from Iranian territory. The emergency state provides the legal framework for mobilization, resource allocation, and rapid decision-making required in the current situation.
