Contact airlines immediately upon cancellation to secure rebooking, especially on El Al. Check with carriers for specific waiver policies, as many are offering flexibility due to the security situation.

Following the Houthi attack and ongoing regional tensions, including Iran-backed threats and Israel’s planned Gaza offensive, foreign airlines are suspending operations until stability is assured.

Some U.S. lawmakers and analysts argue these cancellations resemble a “soft boycott” of Israel, rewarding terrorist actions, though airlines cite safety as the primary concern.

  • Delta Air Lines: Offers no change or cancellation fees for flights to/from Israel, with rebooking options on El Al codeshares possible if cancellations occur. Passengers with fully refundable tickets can request refunds or rebook promptly to secure alternatives.
  • United Airlines: Provides refunds, destination changes, or five-year vouchers for cancelled flights. Israeli regulations may require airlines to offer replacement tickets under equivalent conditions, though enforcement varies.
  • Air France: Has rebooked passengers affected by cancellations, with premium tickets potentially offering priority.
