Ori Megidish, the lookout soldier rescued from Hamas captivity, shares for the first time what she endured during her time in captivity and uses the platform to dispel rumors about her.

She was kidnapped on the morning of October 7 after the terrorists conducted a selection process to decide who would live and be taken with them and who would die. In an interview with Uvda, she describes an unbearable situation in which one of the terrorists guarding her attempted to harass her in.

“As the days passed, the boss, I just felt that he was looking at me in a certain way, not like a normal person would,” she added. “He started getting close and touching me when I didn’t want it, and I told him, ‘I don’t want this, stay away from me.’

“In situations where I was just sitting on the couch, he would walk by and give a pat on the backside or touch places he shouldn’t. I was also injured in the chest, so he would ask about the injury and try to use it as an excuse to look or see. And I don’t know, I’m with him, and he’s the one supposedly guarding me in that place, and I couldn’t resist him, no matter how much I needed to.”

She further said, “When I got there, I didn’t think about it at all, and only after a few months did I come to terms with the fact that it was sexual harassment, that I went through it, and that it’s not a shame to have experienced it. I know it’s not my fault, and I couldn’t have prevented it, but in the end, there’s always that… what if I had done this, or what if I had done that? And God knows what would have happened if we had stayed in that apartment longer.”

Megidish added, “There were rumors that I got pregnant.” She clarified that she experienced harassment but only to the extent she has described so far.
