Israel's Anti-Fraud Unit Detains Ministry Director-General in Major Corruption Probe

The director general of a government ministry and two other senior officials were questioned by Lahav 433’s National Fraud Investigation Unit on suspicion of fraud and breach of trust, abuse of authority and threats.

The director general of a government ministry and two other senior officials were questioned by Lahav 433’s National Fraud Investigation Unit on suspicion of fraud and breach of trust, abuse of authority and threats.

According to the report, the questioning was carried out as part of an investigation into suspected misconduct by senior public officials.

The director general and the two additional officials were questioned under caution by investigators from the unit, which handles major corruption and public integrity cases.

The suspicions include fraud and breach of trust, misuse of the power of office and threatening conduct.

Further details, including the identity of the ministry and the officials involved, have not yet been released.
