Hamas Claims: We Reached Ceasefire Deal with Trump Envoy

Terror group says it agreed to framework for hostage release and Gaza ceasefire following talks with Steve Witkoff

According to the announcement, Hamas agreed in principle to release ten live Israeli hostages, along with several bodies of deceased captives, in exchange for the release of an unspecified number of Palestinian prisoners all under international mediation.

The proposed framework includes:

  • A full withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza
  • The uninterrupted entry of humanitarian aid
  • The transfer of Gaza's governance to a "professional committee" upon the declaration of a ceasefire
  • “The latest effort to end the war in Gaza has led to a general agreement with the American envoy Steve Witkoff on a permanent ceasefire,” the group said in its statement. Hamas added that it is now "awaiting a final response to the framework."

Israeli officials have not yet commented publicly on the announcement, and it remains unclear whether the terms presented by Hamas align with Israel’s position or that of other international negotiators.

The announcement follows weeks of indirect talks and heavy international pressure to secure the release of remaining hostages held in Gaza since the October 7 attack.
