According to a report in Israel Hayom, Hirsch told families that he had met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu earlier in the day. “Discussions, processes, and all activity across various levels are taking place around the clock and under complete secrecy,” he wrote. “Especially at a time like this, it is better this way. The concern is fully understood, as is the desire to receive more details. Forgive us for not sharing more, but updates will come when possible.”
The message comes as Arab media outlets report that Hamas has agreed to a revised framework presented by mediators Egypt and Qatar, in an effort to advance a hostage release and ceasefire deal.
Reported Terms of the Deal
- IDF withdrawal in most of Gaza, except in Shejaiya and Beit Lahiya, up to 1,000 meters.
- Release of 10 living hostages in exchange for 140 Palestinian terrorists serving life sentences and 60 others sentenced to over 15 years.
- Release of all minors and female prisoners.
- For each fallen hostage returned, Israel would hand over 10 terrorist bodies.
- Humanitarian aid including fuel, electricity, water, hospital rehabilitation, and rubble-clearing equipment.
Senior Hamas official Basem Naim said Tuesday: “We have agreed to the mediators’ proposal.”
Prime Minister Netanyahu, responding to the reports, remarked: “Like you, I hear the media reports. One thing is clear from them – Hamas is under immense pressure.”
Political Reactions in Israel
Families from the “Tikva Forum” slammed the potential deal: “Disgrace. If Israel gives in to Hamas and accepts a partial deal, it is nothing short of a humiliation. For months Hamas has been deceiving us – Israel must not surrender again.”
National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir also lashed out: “Mr. Prime Minister, you have no mandate to go for a partial deal. Our soldiers’ blood is not cheap. We must go all the way – destroy Hamas.”
Defense Minister Israel Katz took a different view: “Hamas is only willing to discuss a deal because they fear we are preparing to conquer Gaza City seriously.”
Opposition leader Benny Gantz countered: “The government has a clear majority and a broad safety net to bring the hostages home. Netanyahu, this is not the time to hesitate – it is time to make the right decisions for Israel’s people and security.”
