"A Great Miracle": Northern Council Leader Warns Against Normalizing Hezbollah Drone Attacks
"A great miracle happened today." Ma'ale Yosef Council Head Shimon Guetta slams the "normalization" of Hezbollah drone strikes after an explosive UAV hit near a school in Shomera.

Shimon Guetta, head of the Ma'ale Yosef Regional Council, issued a sharp warning to the Israeli government and military on Thursday following a direct hit by a Hezbollah explosive drone in the community of Shomera.
The attack, which occurred earlier this morning, saw an armed UAV strike near a local school, igniting an armored vehicle and wounding 12 soldiers. Guetta described the incident as an escalation that "cannot be ignored."
"A Great Miracle Happened Today"
Reflecting on the location of the strike, Guetta emphasized how close the community came to a catastrophic loss of civilian life.
"A great miracle happened to us today," Guetta stated. "This event could have ended completely differently. I hear the screams of the parents and the cries of the children; we must not normalize this situation."
The Council head stressed that the presence of explosive aircraft over educational institutions and residential areas is an intolerable breach of security that demands an immediate and forceful response.
Demand for Decisive Action
While expressing his trust in the security forces operating on the ground, Guetta turned his attention to the political echelon, demanding a shift in strategy. He made it clear that the residents of the northern border will not accept a "routine" of sirens and interceptions.
"The blood of our children is not cheap," Guetta warned. "I demand that the State of Israel act with determination and without compromise to ensure real security for the residents of Ma'ale Yosef."
Guetta confirmed he is in continuous contact with both military commanders in the sector and government officials to push for a decisive solution to the ongoing drone threat.
