Hezbollah has released disturbing drone footage purportedly showing a direct hit on an Iron Dome air defense battery in northern Israel.
The video, captured from the perspective of an explosive "suicide" drone, highlights the ongoing challenge the IDF faces in countering small, low-flying unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) along the Lebanese border.
Analysis of the Footage
The footage appears to document two distinct strikes within the same battery compound:
- Direct Hit on Launcher: The first segment shows a drone crashing directly into the interceptor launcher unit.
- Strike on Personnel: A second segment captures a strike on the compound while soldiers were present. The footage suggests the soldiers may have been in the process of reloading interceptor missiles or conducting maintenance.
Military analysts suggest this could have been a "double-tap" attack, where an initial strike is followed by a second one timed to target first responders or technical teams arriving to assess the damage.
