Drama in the Skies: IDF Rescue Chopper Stuck on Lebanese Soil During Evacuation of Wounded Soldiers
An IDF rescue helicopter was grounded in Southern Lebanon due to a technical failure during an emergency evacuation of three soldiers wounded by an explosive drone.

An IDF rescue helicopter was forced to make an emergency landing in Southern Lebanon today following a technical failure during a high-stakes mission to evacuate wounded soldiers.
Itay Blumental explained: An Air Force "Yanshuf" (Black Hawk) helicopter, carrying Unit 669 fighters, was scrambled to rescue wounded soldiers. it got stuck on the ground in southern Lebanon after a blanket was sucked into the engine, shutting it down. The incident was the result of human error.
A second helicopter was scrambled to transport the wounded soldiers.
Meanwhile, the fighters placed a net over the disabled helicopter to defend against drones, and IDF forces were rushed to the scene to secure it.
The Air Force sent a technical team that repaired the helicopter in the field. This morning, it took off and returned to base.
Military officials emphasized that the helicopter was not hit by enemy fire and the landing was strictly due to a mechanical issue.
The evacuation followed an earlier report that three IDF soldiers were lightly wounded by an explosive drone (UAV) in Southern Lebanon. The soldiers have been hospitalized, and their families have been notified.
This incident comes amid a surge in drone warfare along the northern front. Just two days ago, a series of explosive drone attacks left one reservist in serious condition and two others moderately wounded. The IDF continues to operate against launch sites as the threat from suicide UAVs remains a primary challenge in the ongoing conflict.
