Border Police detectives have confiscated approximately 80 head of cattle that had wandered into an active firing range used by the IDF's Golani Brigade, forcing a halt to military training exercises. The operation was carried out by investigators from the Border Police's Coastal District Central Unit, working alongside fighters from a special operations unit and the Green Patrol environmental enforcement agency.
According to authorities, the intervention followed a period of focused intelligence gathering and employed advanced technological and operational capabilities. The two herds discovered within the firing zone are believed to belong to residents of Muawiya and Ein Ibrahim, villages near the Arab-Israeli city of Umm al-Fahm. The animals have been transferred to a quarantine facility near Moshav Dor.
The herd owners were questioned at the Border Police's Coastal District Central Unit in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security's Central Enforcement and Investigations Unit. They are expected to face enforcement measures and fines as a condition for recovering their livestock.
