Cluster Munitions Target Civilian Areas

The IDF reported that one of the missiles, identified as a Khorramshahr-4, was equipped with a cluster warhead containing several small bombs, each packed with 2.5 kg of explosives. At an altitude of 7 km, the warhead split, scattering around 20 submunitions across an 8 km radius. Fragments landed in Azor and surrounding areas, with one striking a home in Azor, causing damage equivalent to a small rocket. Some submunitions failed to detonate, prompting authorities to warn the public to avoid these hazardous remnants and contact bomb disposal teams immediately.

An Israeli military official noted that while cluster bombs pose a wider threat than conventional ballistic missile warheads, their individual explosions are smaller. However, the design of these weapons....intended to scatter and cause multiple residual blasts, reveals Iran’s intent to inflict widespread harm.

Of the approximately 20 ballistic missiles launched, four direct hits were recorded: in Holon, Ramat Gan, Azor, and Soroka Hospital in Be’er Sheva. The strikes on residential buildings, a hospital, and a cancer research center highlight a pattern of targeting civilian infrastructure.

Soroka Hospital Devastated

The most egregious attack struck Soroka Hospital in Be’er Sheva, killing an 80-year-old man and two 70-year-old women, and injuring dozens of patients and medical staff. The missile, carrying a large warhead, caused extensive damage to the facility, disrupting critical medical services. Within an hour of the attack, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Chief of Staff, Major General Moussavi, visited an aerospace base to praise the crews for their “crushing and precise responses.” His celebration of “precision” in the context of a hospital bombing exposes the regime’s callous disregard for human life and its appetite for violence.

Widespread Displacement and Destruction

The Interior Ministry reported that 5,110 people have been displaced since the outbreak of war with Iran.

The hardest hit areas include Ramat Gan (955 displaced), Petach Tikva (945), Bat Yam (812), Tel Aviv (907), Bnei Brak (550), and Rehovot (368). These figures reflect the severe toll of Iran’s missile strikes on densely populated urban centers, where residential buildings have borne the brunt of the attacks.

The deliberate targeting of civilian areas, rather than military infrastructure, points to a strategy aimed at maximizing civilian suffering.

IDF Response and Civilian Guidelines

Despite the severity of the attack, the IDF Home Front Command has not altered its safety guidelines. Schools remain closed, but workplaces with protected areas are permitted to operate, as sufficient warning time is deemed available. The Command is striving to balance safety with a gradual return to normalcy, even as the threat of further attacks looms.

The IDF also warns NOT TO TOUCH OR APPROACH THE UNEXXPLODED MUNITIONS that are laying around civilian areas, residual from the blast.

The IRGC/ Islamic Regime’s True Colors

Iran’s use of cluster munitions and its targeting of civilian infrastructure have drawn sharp criticism.

The strikes on residential areas, a hospital, and a cancer research center are not the actions of a regime seeking legitimate military objectives but rather those of one intent on sowing terror and destruction.

The hypocrisy of those who condemn hospital bombings yet remain silent when Israeli hospitals are targeted has not gone unnoticed, raising questions about selective outrage in the face of such atrocities.

Israel’s resilience in the face of these attacks underscores its role as a bulwark against Iran’s aggression, a fight many argue it is waging on behalf of the broader international community.

As the conflict continues, the Iranian regime’s actions...celebrating the deaths of civilians while deploying weapons designed for indiscriminate harm, cement its reputation as a perpetrator of true crimes against humanity. One that will use the term "Crimes" only as weapon against the West and Israel when it benefits them, only to turn around and do the very thing they accuse everyone else of doing...On purpose.

For now, Israel stands firm, defending its people against a regime that has placed a bullseye on innocent lives, both in Israel and the West.

The international community must reckon with the implications of Iran’s unchecked aggression and the human cost of its bloodlust.
