Israel's defense exports reached a record-breaking $19.2 billion in 2025, marking a nearly 30% increase compared to the previous year, according to figures released Tuesday by the Israeli Ministry of Defense.

The ministry said Israeli defense industries signed hundreds of new contracts worldwide during the year, with more than half of the deals (53%) classified as mega-contracts worth at least $100 million each.

Missile, rocket, and air defense systems accounted for the largest share of exports, representing 29% of total sales. Observation and electro-optical systems made up 22%, followed by manned aircraft and avionics (11%), radar and electronic warfare systems (11%), command, control, communications, and computer systems (7%), firearms and launch systems (6%), unmanned aerial vehicles (4%), satellite and space systems (3%), armored vehicles (2%), intelligence, cyber, and information systems (2%), naval systems (2%), and ammunition and munitions (1%).

Geographically, Europe was the largest market for Israeli defense exports, accounting for 36% of sales, followed by Asia-Pacific at 32%, the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region at 15%, North America at 13%, and both Latin America and Africa at 2% each.

According to the ministry, contracts valued at more than $100 million represented 53% of total agreements, while deals worth $50–100 million accounted for 13%, contracts between $10–50 million represented 19%, and agreements below $10 million made up 15%.

Missile, rocket, and air defense systems continued to dominate exports in 2025. The ministry also highlighted a significant increase in demand for observation and electro-optical systems, which rose to 22% of total exports compared to just 6% the previous year.

The Defense Ministry noted that since the October 7 attacks, both the ministry and Israel's defense industries have operated under emergency conditions, maintaining around-the-clock production for the Israel Defense Forces while continuing to fulfill orders for foreign customers.

The ministry attributed the continued growth in exports to operational achievements and combat experience gained by Israeli systems across multiple theaters of conflict, including during Operation "Rising Lion" in Iran in June 2025. It said the performance of Israeli defense technologies has driven increased international demand, helping defense exports surpass the $19 billion threshold for the first time.
