A serious malfunction in Israel's national desalination system has triggered emergency consultations between the Ramat Hanegev Regional Council, the national water company Mekorot, and the Israel Water Authority. The three bodies convened urgently to manage water resources in the southern region and address supply disruptions caused by the infrastructure failure.
Following the emergency assessment, authorities implemented immediate water conservation measures. All agricultural consumers in the area were instructed to completely cease irrigation for several hours. At the same time, residents of the regional council were asked to avoid watering private gardens and public green spaces as much as possible in the coming hours.
