The National Security Council (NSC) issued an unusual warning today (Monday) to Israelis staying abroad, ahead of the global "Day of Rage" in support of Palestinians expected to take place tomorrow. In the announcement, the NSC warned of protests and demonstrations that could turn violent, along with heightened concerns about potential terrorist attacks against Israelis.

"On Tuesday, April 22, a global 'Day of Rage' in support of Palestinians is expected to take place. Accordingly, many calls are being identified online to hold protest events, demonstrations, and disruptions in various countries around the world, led by pro-Palestinian groups," the statement said. "These protests and demonstrations could develop into violent events against Israelis, alongside concerns that terror supporters/lone attackers may try to blend into protest centers to carry out an attack. It should be remembered that in recent years, and especially following the 'Iron Swords' war, there has been an increase in extremist activity worldwide calling for demonstrations and disruptions, and in isolated cases, calls of a violent nature."

These are the NSC's recommendations for Israelis abroad:

a. For the avoidance of doubt, if you find yourself in distress in a foreign country, you should first and foremost update the local security services. In addition, find out the phone numbers of emergency services and the Israeli diplomatic mission (if there is one) in the country where you are staying.

b. Obey local security forces.

c. Minimize Israeli identifiers in public spaces.

e. Remain vigilant while at your destination, paying attention to what is happening around you.

It was further stated that "for any questions regarding terrorist threats to Israelis abroad, you can contact the National Security Council's travel warning center. For questions on other issues, such as health services, consular issues, personal security related to crime and antisemitism, you can contact the Ministry of Foreign Affairs center."
