Jared Kushner Calls Gvili Family After Ran's Recovery 

In a deeply emotional conversation on Monday evening, Jared Kushner, son-in-law and senior advisor to President Donald Trump, called the family of Ran Gvili to offer his condolences and mark the return of the fallen officer to Israel.

The Gvili family expressed their profound gratitude to Kushner and President Trump for their "tremendous efforts" in securing Ran’s return. Sources familiar with the call described it as a "moving" moment, with Kushner praising the family for the nobility and strength they displayed throughout the grueling ordeal.

Ran Gvili, a police officer who was killed and abducted during the October 7 attacks, was the last missing Israeli held in Gaza. Earlier in the day, Kushner released a statement marking the significance of the recovery: "The successful recovery of Police Officer Ran Gvili's body from Gaza closes one of the darkest chapters of the Middle East conflict."

Kushner highlighted the extensive international cooperation required for the mission, noting that under President Trump’s leadership, the U.S. worked alongside the CIA, Prime Minister Netanyahu, the IDF, and intelligence services from Egypt, Turkey, and Qatar to make the recovery possible.

President Trump personally addressed the development on Truth Social, celebrating the completion of his administration's efforts to return all Americans from Gaza. "We have located the last kidnapped fallen soldier in Gaza. Thus, we have returned all 20 hostages, the living and the dead! Amazing work! Most thought it was impossible. Congratulations to my great team of champions!"

The IDF officially confirmed on Monday evening that Gvili had been returned to Israeli territory. His body was escorted from Nahal Oz by a motorcade of supporters as he began his final journey home. Ran Gvili will be laid to rest tomorrow (Wednesday) in his hometown of Meitar.
