Knesset member Tally Gotliv of the Likud party issued a sharp rebuke Tuesday to reserve Colonel Ofer Winter over his plans to establish a new right-wing political party under his leadership.
In her statement, she addressed Winter directly: "Ofer Winter, don't be offended but you are not the messiah! You are a distinguished military man, fearless in your actions, someone who understands the battlefield, but from here to the coming of our righteous messiah is a great distance."
She continued: "You won't convince me that you've come to save the right-wing camp, or to strengthen the right-wing camp. At a time when we are fighting to strengthen existing parties to prevent the establishment of a Palestinian state under the auspices of Eisenkot, Golan and Abbas, you are becoming a tool in the hands of the left."
