IDF: Nablus Shooting Was Not a Terror Attack; Palestinian Police Fired at Israeli Driver
The IDF has ruled out terrorism in a Samaria shooting incident, revealing that Palestinian Authority police fired at an Israeli civilian who accidentally entered Nablus and bypassed a checkpoint.

An initial IDF investigation into a shooting incident reported earlier today in Samaria has concluded that the event was likely not a terror attack.
According to the military, the incident began when an Israeli civilian accidentally entered the city of Nablus (Shechem), which is located in Area A and under full Palestinian Authority control.
The investigation revealed that the driver bypassed a Palestinian security checkpoint and accelerated away from the area. In response, members of the Palestinian Authority Security Forces (PASF) stationed at the post opened fire on the vehicle as it sped toward the exit.
"An initial inquiry indicates that a Palestinian security force on site responded with gunfire toward the vehicle after an Israeli citizen, who had inadvertently entered the city of Nablus, bypassed a Palestinian inspection point in Area A and accelerated away near the post," the IDF stated in an official release.
Immediately following the report, Israeli defense officials activated coordination and liaison channels with the Palestinian security mechanisms to clarify the circumstances of the shooting. The incident is currently being handled through direct dialogue between the two sides.
The IDF reiterated its standing warning to the public: "Entry into Area A is strictly prohibited and dangerous for Israeli citizens."
