Top secret info disclosed
Shockwaves through security circles after Netanyahu reveals this operational secret
The Prime Minister’s sudden disclosure of a key classified component of Operation Pagers has triggered backlash within Israel’s top security ranks.

The defense establishment is reacting to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's speech last Sunday, during which he revealed two dramatic details about the moves that preceded the Beeper Operation, saying that this was information that was forbidden to be published.
During his speech at a conference of the JNS organization, Netanyahu said: "In the third week of September, we learned that Hezbollah sent three pagers to scan Iran. Before that, we bombed a scanner like the one they were about to bring, we got rid of it and also the guy who operates it."
According to a report on Channel 12 News, the security establishment received the remarks with astonishment and noted that this was information that was considered top secret and known only to a few. According to them, Netanyahu revealed not only that Israel knew about the sending of the pagers for testing in Iran, but also that it succeeded in thwarting the transfer of a device for detecting explosives and eliminated its operator.
A senior security source said, "With all due respect to Netanyahu, the secret does not belong to him personally. Although the prime minister has the authority to publish, the disclosure of sensitive information must be done in consultation with the intelligence agencies."
