Prime Minister Netanyahu revealed the top secret reason for why the government exploded thousands of booby-trapped beepers in the possession of Hezbollah terrorists and commanders at the JNS International Conference at the Waldorf Astoria today (Sunday).
Netanyahu said that Israel destroyed a scanner sent from Iran to Lebanon to detect anything suspicious in the beepers. Then, when they learned some beepers were being sent to be scanned in Iran, Netanyahu asked how long it would take for Iran to see if something was wrong with them. When he was told that it would take them no more than a day, he ordered the beepers operated "immediately."
Hezbollah had originally switched to using mostly beepers after the IDF successfully used the GPS locator on Hezbollah smartphones to target and eliminate dozens and then hundreds of terrorists.
