Rocket barrage on Tel Aviv and Sharon region

Sirens sound as about ten rockets launched from Lebanon hit central Israel, injuring one man and causing damage across multiple areas.

Sirens sounded at around 11 a.m. today (Tuesday) throughout Tel Aviv, Gush Dan and cities in the Sharon region The IDF Spokesperson confirmed that the launches crossed from Lebanese territory into Israel.

One man was moderately injured by shrapnel on Route 6.

Residents of Gush Dan reported loud explosions in the skies over the area due to the interceptions. Ten launches were fired from Lebanon to Gush Dan and the Sharon.

An MDA spokesperson said: "Following the sirens in central Israel, MDA medics and paramedics provided medical treatment and evacuated a 54-year-old man in moderate condition to Beilinson Hospital with shrapnel wounds to the head and back."

MDA teams also treated a number of anxiety victims.

The IDF Spokesperson said: "Following warnings in the areas of Gush Dan, Sharon, Yarkon and Samaria, a number of launches were identified that crossed into Israeli territory from Lebanon, some of which were intercepted. The details of the incident are under investigation."

A police spokesperson said: "The Israel Police is currently dealing with a number of rocket fragments in the Sharon sector. Police officers from the Kafr Qasim, Kfar Saba and police sappers from the Central District are currently working to isolate the scenes of falls in the area of the stations and are searching for remains and other items in order to remove further danger to the public."
