But how long will it last?!

It's official: Israel-Lebanon ceasefire will begin tomorrow morning (Wednesday)

This development represents one of the most significant diplomatic achievements in the region's recent history, though observers note that successful implementation will be critical in the coming weeks.

BREAKING NEWS: Israel and Lebanon Agree to Ceasefire, Starting Tomorrow Morning

In a major diplomatic breakthrough, Israel's Security Cabinet has approved a comprehensive ceasefire agreement with Lebanon, set to take effect Wednesday at 10:00 AM local time. The deal marks a significant shift in the regional tensions that have dominated recent months.

The agreement outlines sweeping changes to the security landscape along the Israeli-Lebanese border. Under the new terms, Hezbollah and other armed groups must cease all offensive actions against Israel, while Israel will halt its military operations against Lebanese targets across land, air, and sea.

Perhaps most significantly, the deal stipulates that only official Lebanese security forces will be permitted to operate in southern Lebanon, effectively pushing for the dismantling of Hezbollah's military presence in the region. All unauthorized weapons facilities and military infrastructure must be dismantled, with existing weapons stockpiles facing confiscation.

To ensure compliance, both nations have agreed to establish a joint oversight committee, working alongside UNIFIL (United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon). Any violations will be reported directly to these monitoring bodies.

The agreement also sets a clear timeline for implementation. Israel has committed to a gradual withdrawal of its forces from south of the Blue Line within 60 days, while Lebanon will deploy its official security forces along the border and at crossing points.

Looking ahead, the United States has committed to facilitating indirect negotiations between the two nations to establish a recognized land border, potentially addressing one of the region's longest-standing disputes.

Both countries have acknowledged the importance of UN Security Council Resolution 1701 while maintaining their right to self-defense. All future weapons-related activities in Lebanon will fall under strict government control and supervision.
