That Is Worrisome

US worried about "ticking time bomb" in Syria

The United States is very worried about a "ticking time bomb" in post-Assad Syria - the presence of some 9,000 hardened ISIS terrorists in makeshift prisons under Kurdish guard, according to a report today (Wednesday) by POLITICO.

Per the report, the Kurds guarding the ISIS terrorists are not well armed, while the terrorists, who are citizens of many countries, have been treated as a political hot potato by their host countries.

Worse, Turkey's determination to destroy Kurdish forces in northern Syria via their pro-Turkish proxies in the region threatens to force a massive jailbreak, which could lead to an explosion of terrorism throughout the region and even around the world.

This worry joins with the general concern regarding Syria's future as a country, since the rebel forces which deposed Assad, while trying to put on a moderate face, are almost all people with pro-Jihadist pasts and even with ties to ISIS and al-Qaeda themselves.
