In a move that can only be described as a cowardly retreat, Rachel Griffin Accurso, better known as “msrachelforlittles,” or Ms. Rachel, has silently removed a deeply inflammatory image from her social media platforms following a torrent of backlash.
The image, sourced from The New York Times and depicting a malnourished child in Gaza with the caption “starved by Israel,” had already been viewed tens of millions of times and garnered over 127,000 likes before its deletion on July 30, 2025, at 05:33 PM IDT. This act of deletion, devoid of any public explanation, is a blatant attempt to erase the damage done to her 3.5 million followers, many of whom were exposed to a grossly distorted narrative about the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, not to mention the damage done to Israel.
The image was part of Accurso’s misguided foray into advocating for Gazan children’s rights. She chose to amplify a simplistic and accusatory headline that ignores the complexities of the situation, blaming Israel for Hamas wrecking its own society, contributing to a dangerous misinformation campaign.
