Report: IDF to present pre-October 7 report to Chief of Staff

The IDF will present its findings regarding the security situation and readiness of Israel the night between October 6 and 7 to IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi tomorrow, according to Israel Hayom.

Earlier today (Thursday), Defense Minister Israel Katz said that he would not approve any more senior promotions until the IDF completed its investigations of all events pertaining to October 7 and presented their findings to the government.

The IDF has already conducted a number of localized investigations into the events of October 7, including attacks on IDF bases and on Kibbutz Be'eri. However, IDF soldiers and survivors from Be'eri claimed that the investigations did not address critical questions and issues regarding the events of that day.

Katz said that the IDF has until the end of this coming January to complete all of its investigations.
