A Jewish teenager said he was attacked by an Arab who hit him on the head with a club a week ago while he was hiking in the Jordan Valley near the settlement of Hamra. The assailant was arrested but released by the military court within a day.

Attorney Haim Bleicher of the Honenu organization wrote a letter to the MAG Corps demanding the arrest of the assailant, who he said demanded that a Jew leave the area, and after he refused, beat him.

The Jew managed to call for help and was evacuated from the scene with a bleeding head. After the incident, he filed a complaint with the police and the Arab assailant was arrested by the military court, but according to Honenu, he was released a day later, despite documentation of the attack filmed by the attacker.

Attorney Bleicher said: "It is unacceptable that a terrorist who attacked a 16-year-old Jewish boy in such a severe manner is immediately released by the military court and returns to the scene of the crime. The courts must get out of the concept and allow the fight against Islamic terrorism in all security and legal arenas."

"The blood and safety of the settlers is not worthless, and the release of the terrorist leads to the reduction of the settlers' blood. We demand that the terrorist be arrested immediately and that he be imprisoned for many years," the lawyer added.
