Knesset Chairman MK Amir Ohana publicly thanked President Donald Trump today (Tuesday) for his executive orders defunding UNRWA, leaving the UN Human Rights Council, and heavily sanctioning Iran for its nuclear weapons program.

In a post he published on X regarding the sanctioning of Iran, Ohana said:

"A nuclear weapon in the arsenal of a theocratic, terrorist regime is a risk the world cannot afford. Oil exports fuel the Ayatollah's dangerous agenda. Sanctions are vital to foiling his designs. Thank you, President Donald Trump, for your efforts to safeguard civilization."

Regarding the defunding of UNRWA and the leaving of the UNHRC, Ohana remarked:

"UNRWA schools indoctrinated the terrorists of October 7th. Its employees joined the massacre. Hostages were held in its facilities. UNHRC condemns Israel more than Iran, Syria, & N. Korea – combined. Thank you President Donald Trump for defunding these bloodstained scams."

President Trump reinstated "maximum pressure" sanctions on Iran today with the aim of deterring it from further developing nuclear weapons, just as he did in his first term in office.

Trump said that though the sanctions are very "tough" on Iran, he said he had no choice because Iran was too close to a nuclear weapon. He also said that he left instructions for Iran to be "obliterated" if the country assassinates him in response to the sanctions.

He also reiterated that the Palestinians remaining in the Gaza Strip who are displaced "have no choice" but to leave the Strip for better homes and an area that isn't ravaged by war.

Trump has repeated this position despite vociferous opposition from all Arab countries and both the PA and Hamas. Trump has retorted that many countries refused at first to accept illegal immigrants in the United States, but then they reneged following threats or promises from the White House.
