A haredi man in his forties was stabbed Wednesday morning on HaAri Street in Bnei Brak, near the Chazon Ish kollel, and airlifted to Sheba Medical Center at Tel HaShomer in serious condition. The suspect fled the scene immediately after the attack and remains at large as police conduct an active manhunt.

Magen David Adom paramedic Elchanan Rosenstein described the victim on arrival: "The wounded man was lying semi-conscious, suffering penetrating wounds to his body. We administered treatment including stopping the bleeding and administering medication, and evacuated him by intensive care ambulance to the hospital in serious condition."

Hatzalah Deputy Director Chaim Bergman added that responders found "a man with penetrating wounds to his upper body following an assault," and that life-threatening bleeding was stopped at the scene before the victim was transferred to the trauma unit at Sheba.

Police confirmed they received a report of a man, aged between 45 and 53 according to varying initial accounts, stabbed on HaAri Street. A criminal background to the attack is suspected. Forensic teams are collecting evidence at the scene while security forces continue to sweep the area for the attacker. The public has been asked to pray for the recovery of Yishai ben Sara.

A Troubling Pattern

The Bnei Brak stabbing is the latest in a wave of violent incidents across Israel in recent weeks. Data presented to the Knesset Committee for Children's Rights shows that in 2024/25, criminal files were opened against more than 6,800 suspected minors, a 26% rise from approximately 5,400 the previous year, prompting an emergency session in the Knesset and growing alarm among law enforcement.
