Iran Threatens Israeli Arab Activist Yoseph Haddad

Yoseph Haddad, the Israeli Arab activist and hasbara advocate running second on the Amcha Yisrael party list, received a series of emails containing explicit death threats. The party assesses that the threats originated from sources connected to the Iranian regime.

One of the emails sent to Haddad read: "We will cut off your fingers one by one and dismember your bodies together with the Americans. We are men of war. To hell with you."

Party officials said their assessment regarding the source of the messages is based on the content and writing style of the threats. However, they did not confirm that the identity of those sending the threats has been verified.

The threats arrived after Iran's intelligence ministry recently published a list of figures it defined as hostile to Israel, with whom the Iranian people are forbidden to make contact. Haddad, who serves as the number-two candidate on the Amcha Yisrael list, appeared at the top of the published list.

Haddad responded to the threats, stating they would not deter him from continuing his work. "The Iranian regime has never been more predictable. I also receive explicit death threats on social media," he said.

According to him, similar messages he received in the past did not cause him concern, and the new threats only strengthen his resolve. "It didn't frighten me in the past and it doesn't frighten me today. On the contrary, it strengthens me. I will continue to work for the State of Israel and for Israeli society," he added.

At the end of his remarks, Haddad addressed those threatening him, responding with an Arabic proverb: "And to the enemies threatening from Iran to Gaza, I convey the well-known Arabic saying: روحوا بلّطوا البحر, 'Go pave the sea.'"
