Kan News political correspondent Shachar Glick reported Sunday evening that behind-the-scenes contacts are underway between Likud and Benny Gantz to explore a political partnership ahead of the next elections.
According to the report, based on three separate sources, Likud offered Gantz an immediate ministerial appointment in the current government. The move was intended to demonstrate Likud's seriousness and serve as the foundation for a "national unity government" campaign. During the talks, the possibility of offering him the Defense Ministry portfolio was raised as a theoretical option.
