Former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett addressed claims that his political positions have shifted over the years, telling Knesset Channel in an interview that he has evolved on how to govern but not on core territorial issues.
Asked whether he has become more moderate compared to his earlier career, Bennett replied: "I've changed and developed like any person. I wouldn't wish on anyone that their version at 36 be identical to their version at 54. Part of leadership is seeing reality and responding to it."
But he drew a sharp line between coalition strategy and ideology. "On my fundamental positions, that the Land of Israel is ours, that I won't give up a centimeter of land, unlike Netanyahu who gave 13% of Judea and Samaria, that I won't establish a Palestinian state, unlike the Likud that handed Gaza to Hamas, I'm a thousand times stronger than them. They won't teach me," he said.
