Defense Minister Israel Katz on Sunday attacked Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan over his support for Hamas operatives and the group's activities from Turkish soil. At the same time, Katz issued a direct threat to senior Hamas figure Khalil al-Hayya, who is sheltering in Qatar, making clear that he too is in the crosshairs.
"Erdoğan continues to roll out the red carpet for the murderers and rapists of Hamas, and to support the terror activity they are advancing from Turkey together with the Muslim Brotherhood against Israel and against important Muslim countries in the region," Katz wrote.
According to him, Hamas's operations from Turkey are directed not only against Israel but also against other Muslim states in the region, and he accused Erdoğan of backing this activity.
"Al-Hayya's turn will come too"
The defense minister then turned to an explicit threat against Khalil al-Hayya, one of Hamas's senior leaders.
"We eliminated the heads of Hamas in Gaza, and al-Hayya's turn will come too, and he will be sent to meet Haniyeh and his friends in the depths of hell," Katz wrote.
