Elections 2026

"Netanyahu sees Winter in serious trouble"

Political correspondent Avi Solomon explains Likud's tactical shift toward Amcha Yisrael party two weeks before elections: They understand he's in serious trouble and don't want the votes burned

Walla Analyst: Netanyahu Understands Ofer Winter is in Serious Trouble

Two weeks before Israel's elections, and the battle inside the right-wing bloc continues to roil the political system: Avi Solomon of Walla spoke this morning (Thursday) with Anat Davidov and Nissim Mishal on Radio 103FM, addressing the shift in Likud's campaign tactics against the Amcha Yisrael party led by Ofer Winter.

During the broadcast, Solomon analyzed Prime Minister Netanyahu's recent moves and those of the Likud campaign apparatus toward Winter's party, which according to recent polls is hovering near the electoral threshold.

"It's not that they're changing tactics so much as they understand that right now he's in serious trouble," Solomon explained on air. "It's important to them that he doesn't burn the votes."

Solomon's remarks come against the backdrop of rising tension in the national camp, with Likud fearing a scenario in which tens of thousands of right-wing votes will be lost if Amcha Yisrael fails to cross the threshold on election day.
