Yisrael Beiteinu chairman Avigdor Liberman addressed his position on forming a national unity government on Thursday, laying out red lines that effectively block a reported plan by Gadi Eisenkot to lead a minority government with external Arab support.
"In recent days I've been asked many times about a national unity government," Liberman said. "Our position is sharp and clear: we will form a coalition made up of Zionist parties only. Without Ra'am, without the Joint List, without Shas and without United Torah Judaism."
He added that Likud without Netanyahu could be a significant partner, but "with Netanyahu, the world can turn upside down and we won't sit [with him]."
Liberman emphasized: "We will not support any minority government, not even a minority government for a transitional period."
He concluded by saying he believes a solid majority will be reached in the coming elections despite the polls. "Besides that, I know several MKs within Likud who understand the gravity of the hour, who understand that Bibi has turned them into subcontractors for Goldknopf and Deri, and therefore will be ready to complete the quorum and join a Zionist coalition."
