The IDF and the Shin Bet announced Thursday that security forces struck and destroyed three central weapons depots belonging to the Hamas terror organization last week, in a joint operation across the Gaza Strip.
According to the statement, the targeted warehouses were actively used by Hamas's military wing and stored dozens of weapons of various types intended for attacks against IDF forces and Israeli civilians.
Among the weapons destroyed in the strikes:
Dozens of rockets and launchers
RPG rockets
Kalashnikov rifles
Assorted combat equipment
Security officials said precautionary measures were taken before the strikes to minimize harm to uninvolved civilians. These included advance warnings to the local population, use of precision munitions, and focused aerial surveillance to ensure the area was clear of bystanders.
"Security forces will continue to act decisively to degrade the capabilities of terror organizations in the Gaza Strip and to thwart any attempt to rebuild them or hold weapons intended to harm our forces," the joint statement said.
The statement added that security forces are currently deployed in the area in accordance with existing agreements and will continue to act resolutely to remove any immediate threat that develops on the ground.
