Religious reality star: How can anyone believe Bennett?

Reality star and influencer Anael Shmueli posted a series of pointed thoughts on her Instagram account, opening up about the difficult feelings she and many Israelis are experiencing as they look at the political map.

"Forgive me, this won't be easy, but maybe you can enlighten me, I honestly have no idea who to vote for!!" Shmueli began. "I really have to say something about politics. I feel like we're all naive because of October 7th, we believe promises and empty words! Like they're giving us candy with words."

Later in her Instagram story, she pointed an accusing finger directly at former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, attacking his treatment of the religious-Zionist sector: "Bennett?? Really?? Does anyone who follows me believe him?? How?! The man who took our sector, the salt of the earth, rode on it to power and in the end threw all the values he promised his voters in the trash? What? How can anyone believe him??"

"We're not a country in training, we're not interns"

Shmueli also directed criticism at new players trying to enter the political system without prior experience. She says that the current security and national situation does not allow for experiments: "Regarding the new ones, there are a lot of good new people, but how do we choose people who haven't been ministers or Knesset members for even one day?? We're not a country in training, we're not interns!" she wrote with concern.

She concluded her remarks with an appeal to her followers and a request for help in making the decision: "The day after the elections, the prime minister who is chosen will have to fight on all fronts, with what experience??? This scares me on so many levels!! I'm really, really asking? I hope you'll bring me answers..."
