Yesh! party chairman Gadi Eisenkot has issued his first response to the election results since delivering a premature victory speech after the initial exit polls on election night.
In a post on X, Eisenkot wrote: "Ending a long day of meetings, conversations and preparations to fulfill the will of the voter."
"Long working days still await us, but we are focused on the heavy task placed upon us, bringing change to Israel and establishing a Zionist recruitment government," he stated. "This is the will of the people, who expressed no confidence in the October 7th government and the draft-dodging bloc. A bloc now at a two-decade low."
He added: "Thanks to you, we made history, in just one year we founded a new all-Israel party that represents a worthy and statesmanlike governing alternative."
Eisenkot had rushed to declare victory after the first exit polls on election night, which projected an advantage for the change bloc.
"We made history! The public decided in favor of change. The default coalition has lost the people's trust," Eisenkot claimed at the time. According to him, "The Israeli public voted against the continuation of Netanyahu's tenure as prime minister of Israel."
