After his conversation with Prime Minister Netanyahu, US President Donald Trump addressed this evening (Monday) the negotiations that the US is conducting with Iran on the nuclear issue.

According to him, "We are in the midst of negotiations between us and Hamas and Israel. Iran is also involved - we want to bring the hostages home."

Trump added: "We are trying to do something with Iran. Sometimes it's too tough. We are trying to make a deal without destruction and death, and I told them that. Maybe it will succeed and maybe not," Trump said and added that "the conversation with Netanyahu was good. We want a deal with Iran - I very much hope it's possible."

Strangely, Trump added that Iran is "involved" in negotiations for hostage release, without elaborating or explaining his words.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister's Office that was published: "Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke this evening with United States President Donald Trump. President Trump told the Prime Minister that the United States has conveyed a reasonable proposal to Iran, and it is supposed to receive its response in the coming days."

At the end it was stated that "the American President updated the Prime Minister that he intends to hold another round of talks with Iran at the end of the week."

Earlier this evening, it was reported that the phone call between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump had ended. According to reports, the leaders' conversation lasted about 40 minutes.

It was also reported that the conversation between PM Netanyahu and President Trump focused mainly on the Iranian issue being discussed in talks held between the US and Iran.

Additionally, US President Donald Trump addressed humorously this evening the arrest of environmental activist Greta Thunberg, who was arrested during the previous night by Israeli security forces while trying to enter the Gaza Strip along with 11 other activists.

When asked if he has a message for Thunberg and what he thinks of her actions, Trump said with a smile that "she has problems":

"Greta is a strange person. A young and angry girl. I'm not sure if it's really real anger - it's hard to believe it, really. But I saw what happened. She's definitely different."

Trump continued in a sarcastic tone:

"Anger management workshop - that's what she needs. I think she needs to go to anger management class. That's my main recommendation."

When asked if he thinks Thunberg was indeed "kidnapped" by Israel, as she claimed, Trump replied cynically:

"They kidnapped her? I think Israel has enough problems without starting to kidnap Greta Thunberg."
