The strike occurred on Sunday afternoon as part of a massive retaliatory barrage from Iran. The missile caused severe damage to a residential block, specifically impacting areas near a synagogue and a public bomb shelter.

Nine fatalities have been confirmed in the incident. Total injuries from the broader missile barrage are estimated at 49 people, according to emergency services.

First responders described heavy structural collapse and fire at the impact site. Rescue workers operated through smoke and debris to reach victims trapped in the wreckage of the commercial and residential buildings.

The IDF stated that the strike deliberately targeted a civilian population center. While Israeli air defenses intercepted numerous projectiles during the barrage, this specific missile breached the defensive layer with fatal consequences.

Gabriel Revach was a resident of the city. His death marks one of the youngest victims identified in the current escalation of "Operation Roaring Lion."

A funeral service for the teenager was held late Sunday night at the Bet Shemesh cemetery, attended by family members and local residents amid ongoing security alerts in the region.
