Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a large-scale shooting late Sunday night in the 2000 block of East 12th Street in East Austin, where multiple casualties were reported.

According to early information shared with local media, officers arrived to find emergency personnel treating victims.

Witnesses and video from the scene showed a heavy police presence, with the area cordoned off by crime scene tape and multiple emergency vehicles on site. Officials described it as a "large scene."

The suspect fled the area after the shooting and remains at large.

APD has not confirmed the total number of victims, whether any fatalities occurred, or additional details as investigators continue to gather evidence and interview witnesses.

East Austin has experienced several shootings in recent months, including incidents near bars and clubs, though authorities have not linked this event to any prior cases.
