Iran's semi-official Fars News Agency reported that parts of the Strait of Hormuz will be temporarily closed for a few hours tomorrow due to "security precautions" aimed at ensuring shipping safety. The measure is in connection with ongoing naval exercises conducted by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in the strait.

The announcement specifies that the closures are intended to support the military drills while prioritizing the safety of maritime traffic in the vital waterway. No further details on the exact areas or timings were provided in the report.

The Commander of the IRGC Navy said "If it comes to closing the Strait of Hormuz, this force [who is currently doing the naval exercises] will carry out the operation in the shortest possible time."
