Iran Claims Upper Hand Over Trump in Secret Tapes

Leaked remarks from Revolutionary Guard commanders show Tehran believes it completely humiliated the US administration during recent talks, while explicitly naming Israel as their next strategic target for global isolation

The first round of talks under the memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran concluded yesterday, with Washington framing the negotiations as a major diplomatic success.

However, leaked quotes from closed-door meetings of senior Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) officials reveal a starkly different reality, showing that Tehran is convinced it has completely gained the upper hand.

According to leaked reports, IRGC Commander Ahmad Vahidi and other top officials believe Iran emerged as the definitive winner of the current round of talks. In private conversations, Vahidi stated that they have "brought President Trump to his knees" and received exactly what they wanted, adding that the West foolishly believes it is getting something in return, which he remarked will never happen.

Leverage and Broken Promises

The leaked transcripts also reveal that Tehran views the Strait of Hormuz as its primary point of leverage over the American administration.

Vahidi explained that the current goal is to keep the Americans on a short leash, noting that any violation, no matter how small or who commits it, will allow Iran to threaten the closure of the Strait of Hormuz to force Trump and his team to agree to any demand.

Furthermore, the IRGC leadership made it clear that they have no intention of using the funds released under the agreement for the purposes expected by Washington. In the closed meetings, officials stated that Trump believes Iran will spend the money buying goods from the United States, declaring that this will never happen in their lifetime, which directly contradicts public statements made by American officials regarding the objectives of the deal.

The Campaign Against Israel

The leaks expose another critical political objective for Iran, which focuses on aggressively damaging Israel's standing on the international stage.

Top officials stated that their next goal is to make the Americans believe that Israel is the true bad actor in the Middle East. They emphasized a strategy of zero concessions, urging colleagues to threaten and even abandon the talks if necessary, using their newly found leverage to isolate Israel and brand it as the region's ultimate problem.
