BREAKING: Iran's IRGC Claims to Shoot Down U.S. F-35 Fighter Jet

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that its air defense system destroyed a U.S. F-35 fighter jet belonging to the Lakenheath squadron in central Iran, releasing images and footage of the wreckage and stating the pilot likely did not survive due to a massive explosion

Tehran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) is claiming its air defenses shot down a second American F-35 Lightning II stealth fighter jet over central Iran today.

According to IRGC-linked media and officials, the jet was “completely destroyed” on impact, with the pilot’s survival described as “unlikely.”

No confirmation or comment has been issued by the US military, CENTCOM, or any independent sources. The claim remains unverified.

Multiple analysts observing the photos point out that the metal construction, paint scheme, and “EUROPE” markings are consistent with an F-15E Strike Eagle (from the U.S. 48th Fighter Wing at RAF Lakenheath, UK), not an F-35, which uses far more composite materials and has a very different wreckage profile.
