Live updates from Monday, June 8, as Israel and Iran exchange fire in an escalating military confrontation:

13:25 Tehran says it has sealed off the Strait of Hormuz and Bab el-Mandeb.

A source linked to Parliament Speaker Ghalibaf told state media the regime's next move is targeting oil and energy infrastructure in U.S.-allied Gulf states, framing it as retaliation for the Israeli strike on Mahshahr's petrochemical complex. (Open Source Intel quoting Mehr News Agency)

13:22 - The Health Ministry reports that since the start of the special home front situation, as of Monday, June 8 at 11:00 a.m., 44 casualties have been brought to hospitals. Of those, one patient is currently hospitalized in mild condition.

13:10 - IDF Pushes Back on Misinformation

As rumors spread rapidly online Monday of additional Israeli strikes in Tehran, correspondent Doron Kadosh issued a flat denial on behalf of the IDF. The military stated clearly that since the morning strikes, no additional attacks have been carried out inside Iran, and that no senior Iranian official has been eliminated. The IDF urged the public to rely only on official military statements amid what it described as a fog of misinformation circulating on social media.

13:04 - The New York Times reported Monday that regional diplomatic officials are engaged in intensive behind-the-scenes efforts to prevent the current Israeli-Iranian exchange from destroying the broader US-Iran ceasefire framework that has been in place since April 8. Two regional officials confirmed that concerted diplomatic efforts were underway to salvage the ceasefire between Iran and the United States following the exchange of strikes between Israel and Iran.

13:00 - Lebanese commentator Khalil Nasrallah, who is close to Hezbollah, assessed that "Iran will not stop its attacks until a ceasefire is established that includes Lebanon."

According to him, "This is a fact well known to the Americans. First and foremost, establishing the ceasefire as an advance payment toward a memorandum of understanding that will end the state of war. It does not appear that Tehran and its allies intend to back down from establishing their equations."

12:44 - Trump: ‘Israel and Iran must immediately stop “shooting.” President DONALD J. TRUMP’

12:20 — The IDF is preparing for several days of fighting against Iran, with detailed strike plans already approved across the various command levels. A senior IDF officer stated: "From our perspective, we are in the continuation of Operation Lion's Roar - day 42, after a two-month lull. We have an opportunity to leverage the gains."

The current round began Sunday with an Israeli strike on a Hezbollah explosive drone command headquarters in Beirut's Dahieh district. In response, Iran has fired 22–24 ballistic missiles at Israel, while Yemen launched two additional missiles, one intercepted, one falling short.

The IDF said it had assessed that Iran would respond to the Dahieh strike but was not certain about the precise timing. The Air Force subsequently launched two waves of strikes inside Iran, beginning with the neutralization of aerial threats.

As during Operation Lion's Roar, American military representatives are currently in the IDF's operations center at the Kirya in Tel Aviv, with Israeli representatives stationed at US Air Force headquarters in Florida. All offensive strikes against Iran have been carried out by Israel alone, though the United States assisted in intercepting a portion of the Iranian missiles in the aerial defense effort.

On Iran's attempts to impose deterrence equations linking Israeli strikes in Beirut to Iranian restraint, the IDF was unequivocal: "We have no equations. The Iranians are trying to confine us to equations, but we will not allow them to create a new reality in the Middle East."

The IDF also made clear that strike opportunities in Beirut's Dahieh will be acted upon whenever they arise.

The strikes destroyed those systems, further expanding the IAF's freedom of operation in Iranian skies.

10:25 — Spokesman for Iran's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee Ibrahim Rezaei threatens: "The path to peace and stability lies through war. Our forces have grown stronger and repaired their losses during the battlefield silence.
