A major demonstration of next-generation defense technology is set to take center stage in the United Kingdom, signaling a new era for autonomous military aviation. Boeing has officially announced that its cutting-edge MQ-28 Ghost Bat collaborative combat aircraft will make its highly anticipated debut on static display at the Farnborough International Airshow 2026. This uncrewed platform represents a fundamental shift in global defense strategies, moving toward autonomous systems designed to operate alongside manned fighter jets.

The advanced combat drone, originally designed and developed by Boeing Defence Australia, is engineered to operate as an autonomous force multiplier in highly contested airspace. The uncrewed system is built to coordinate directly with modern fighter jets, including the F-35 and the F-15EX, to carry out complex missions without risking human pilots. The multi-mission platform is specifically designed to perform surveillance, electronic warfare, and direct strike support under challenging combat conditions.

The upcoming airshow appearance follows a series of successful operational milestones, which have validated the aircraft's readiness for modern warfare. The uncrewed platform recently participated in the major multinational Valiant Shield 2026 exercises in the Pacific Ocean, marking a critical milestone for autonomous combat integration. Additionally, Boeing engineers recently finalized comprehensive radar cross-section testing, validating the stealth performance and low radar profile of the uncrewed jet.

The international exhibition, which runs from July 20 to July 24, represents a vital opportunity for the aerospace giant to demonstrate stable engineering progress and reinforce key partnerships. Alongside the advanced defense systems, which also include a static display of the CH-47 Chinook helicopter, the manufacturer is presenting its latest commercial achievements. Visitors will be able to access a full-size interior section of the upcoming 777X passenger cabin, highlighting a dual focus on defense innovation and civil aviation recovery.
