A former conservative television host, Natalie Harp has emerged as one of the most influential figures in Donald Trump's inner circle, effectively managing the president's communications with the outside world.
As an executive assistant in the White House, Harp's responsibilities include typing and posting Trump's messages on Truth Social, the social media platform where she maintains direct access to his account. This role placed her at the center of controversy earlier this year when a racist video was briefly posted and then deleted from Trump's account. While Trump advisers privately suspected Harp was responsible for the post, they refrained from publicly blaming her, fearing it would only strengthen her standing with the president.
Trump's staff has dubbed Harp "the human printer" due to her habit of regularly supplying the president with printed news articles, messages from various sources, and updates from social media platforms.
A White House adviser noted that Trump values her demonstration of unwavering commitment and loyalty. That loyalty was particularly evident in October 2023 outside Trump Tower in New York, as Trump was heading to court. When no seat remained available for her in the presidential motorcade, a loud confrontation erupted in the lobby, with Harp insisting the president had personally requested her presence. She ultimately climbed into the trunk of an SUV to accompany him, a moment captured in a photograph obtained by CNN.
White House spokesman David Ingle responded to reports by stating that "Natalie is one of the most loyal and hardworking assistants on President Trump's team."
