Netanyahu Lashes Out at Judges Over Court Appearance During Security Crisis
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confronted judges during his trial on Tuesday, citing urgent calls with President Trump and top security officials as reasons why court proceedings should be delayed. Despite his protests, the court mandated a three-hour session, starting later in the afternoon to accommodate his "urgent security schedule."

Amidst a backdrop of soaring regional tensions, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrived at the Jerusalem District Court today to continue his testimony in the Case 1000 trial. The appearance followed a tense morning of legal maneuvering and a failed attempt by the Prime Minister to postpone the session due to urgent state matters.
Netanyahu: "Security is on the Line"
Addressing the bench directly, Netanyahu expressed deep frustration over being compelled to attend the hearing while Israel faces critical security threats.
"In the last 24 hours, I have spoken with four heads of state," Netanyahu told the judges. "I spoke with President Trump, and you surely understand what we discussed, and also with the CEO of the Peace Council regarding Gaza, where an interesting development is unfolding."
He continued: "This is without mentioning three meetings with the nation's top security leadership. And now, we are taking three hours to discuss how I reacted to a headline?"
Scheduling Tensions
Earlier on Tuesday, the Prime Minister's legal team submitted an urgent request to delay the start of the testimony from 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM, citing an "urgent security-diplomatic schedule."
His attorney, Amit Haddad, informed the court that despite the Prime Minister's grueling schedule, he could adjust his meetings to allow for a session until 6:00 PM, though he added a caveat that this remained "subject to security and diplomatic developments."
The Court’s Decision
The judges partially granted the request but insisted that the Prime Minister fulfill a full three-hour session. By moving the start time to 4:00 PM, the court mandated that the proceedings continue until at least 7:00 PM, ensuring that the judicial timeline remains intact despite the Prime Minister's protestations.
