Qatar Slams Strike on Iranian Gas Field: "Dangerous and Irresponsible"
Qatar issues a sharp condemnation of the Israeli strike on Iran’s South Pars gas field, labeling it "dangerous and irresponsible." Here's why the shared gas reservoir is creating a diplomatic rift between Doha and the U.S.-Israeli coalition.

Despite repeated Iranian provocations and attacks against Qatari energy infrastructure and citizens in recent weeks, the State of Qatar has issued a blistering condemnation of the joint Israeli-American strike on Iran’s South Pars gas field.
Joint Interests in the Crosshairs
The South Pars field is a massive underwater natural gas deposit shared geographically between Iran and Qatar (where it is known as the North Dome). Because both nations draw from the same reservoir and operate adjacent infrastructure, Qatar views any kinetic activity in the area as a direct threat to its own national security and economic interests.
In a joint statement released by the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Energy, officials stated:
"The attack on the Pars gas field is a dangerous and irresponsible act, especially during a period of military escalation and regional instability. Threats to gas fields and energy infrastructure endanger the global energy market."
A Calculated Condemnation
The condemnation comes at a sensitive time. While Israel and the United States continue to dismantle the Iranian regime’s economic lifelines, Qatar finds itself in a precarious position:
This diplomatic friction highlights the growing complexity of the conflict, as even regional players who have suffered from Iranian aggression fear the fallout of a total energy war in the Persian Gulf.
Gas has stopped flowing between Iran and Iraq as a result of the strike.
