A month after the massacre and following a long period of quiet on the issue of Israeli captives, the Pope has now officially called for the release of the Israeli captives from the Gaza Strip.

Pope Francis, the head of the global Catholic Christian faith, issued an official statement in which he called for the immediate release of the Israeli captives in the Gaza Strip and expressed concern for the children affected by the conflict.

The Pope stated in an official message: "Immediate release of the captives, think of the children, all the children affected in this war, as in other wars, like in Ukraine and other conflicts; this is our future generation that we're killing right now, pray that we find the strength to say 'enough'."

This statement comes after a long silence from the Pope and the Catholic Church regarding the Hamas massacre in the south and the Israeli captives in the Gaza Strip.
