Will the deterrence be lost? The American ABC News network reported last night (Sunday) that the American aircraft carrier "Gerald Ford", which arrived in the Mediterranean Sea at the beginning of the war in October, is expected to leave the Middle East region in the coming days. However, an American source clarified that the US will still have a large military capability in the region, including the deployment of additional cruisers and destroyers in the Mediterranean Sea and the Red Sea.

According to the report, the American aircraft carrier will make its way back to its home base in the state of Virginia, along with 5 other battleships that accompanied it - this is in accordance with the operational schedule of the new ship. At this stage the aircraft carrier "Eisenhower" will remain in the Persian Gulf, where it was placed to deter Iran.

As a reminder, the Pentagon sent the aircraft carrier to the Mediterranean Sea to deter Hezbollah from joining the war against Israel following the Hamas attack in the south on October 7. The aircraft carrier was originally supposed to be in the area for a month, but since the ship's deployment has been extended 3 times to maintain deterrence.
